
Samhita's microfinance program is the entry-level intervention among the full set of Samhita's economic programs. It serves to bring the poorest of the poor, especially in remote regions across Central India, into the fold with financial inclusion services.
Samhita Microfinance began operations in rural Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh in December 2007. A parallel urban microfinance program was begun in the slums of Bhopal in February 2008.
As of 31 March 2011, Samhita runs microfinance services in 18 districts of MP. Current operational figures are provided in the table below. Samhita is presently in the midst of an intensive Financial Literacy Campaign for all its members.
